This is THE fastfood for vegetarians! (and the omnivores I've introduced to this place, don't usually realise it's vegetarian until you tell them!!) Sorry... I should say VEGAN.... not just vegetarian!

They started out with just fries... I remember when they just had the one store in the city... now they are everywhere! And their menu has expanded considerably!!! It's not just fries now!... There's sweetpotato chips, pretend chicken nuggets, pretend beef burgers, pretend chicken burgers, pretend hotdogs! There's even a BigMac equivalent... which tastes so much better than the real BigMac! And just like the generic fastfood places... you can add bacon! (pretend bacon that is)

You have to try this place!... but try not to get addicted... I don't think you can count this one as "healthy vegetarian"!

Shakahari and Shakahari Too

Yong Green Foods

This place is definitely healthy food! They seem to serve a healthy vegetarian version of many popular dishes from around the world. They add extra greens, salads, fresh vegetables to their dishes so that you can only just recognise the origins of the dish... but definitely yummy! And you don't feel bad or sick afterwards :-)

Open 11am to 10pm, but the kitchen closes for a couple of hours in the afternoon.

Restaurant and veg grocery

Our favourite vegetarian restaurant in Perth. Asian vegetarian fare with a huge choice of "mock meat" dishes. Utopia are best-known for their bubble tea and karaoke, but this particularly restaurant has more of a restaurant focus.

Our favourite dishes:
Fried "chicken" chunks
Salted Fried "chicken"
Spicy crispy "chicken"
Kai-Lan - a whole dish of leafy greens :-)
Clay pot "duck"
Salted "Fish" "Chicken" Fried Rice
Sizzling black pepper lamb"
Most of the "fish" dishes are also good.

Restaurant and Veg Grocery

Asian, Nyonya and Malaysian Vegetarian. The owner can be a bit pushy - always trying to convince you to have the day's special - but they do have some great dishes.

Lord of the Fries

They have started in Perth similarly to how they started in Melbourne - a hole in the wall on the corner of a busy street.
